A Local 8 Weather Alert has been issued for today. Because of the threat of rain, thunder and even hail, outdoor activities may be disrupted or inconvenienced. What's going on? An upper-level low will be moving across East Tennessee today, creating a more unstable atmosphere.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- There is still time to get a flu shot for the upcoming season, for free.
Free Flu Shot Saturday is planned for this coming Saturday. It takes place at six area schools. The event benefits the Empty Stocking Fund, which is celebrating its 100th year of helping needy families in the area for the holidays. Anyone is welcome to contribute to the Fund at the flu shot event, but will be able to get a free flu shot either way.
The event runs from 8:00 am to noon Saturday at Austin-East Magnet High School, Farragut Intermediate School, Halls High School, West High School, South-Doyle Middle School and Carter High School.
