KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Ice hockey may seem intimidating at first for children, but they soon learn it can be a great experience.
The Knoxville Amateur Hockey Association held a "Try Hockey for Free" event Saturday afternoon at the Cool Sports Home of the Icearium.
Children ages four to eight were put into groups and paired with a coach to learn how to "take their second first step."
"It's really cool to be able to see all these kids, who don't even know each other, come together and just learn how to do this incredible sport," said Emma Black.
Another "Try Hockey for Free" event will be held March 1, 2014.
