Fulmer inducted into College Football Hall of Fame

NEW YORK (WVLT) -- Vols' coaching legend joined an impressive class being inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in New York on Tuesday.

Jimmy Johnson, R.C. Slocum, and Steve Bartkowski as well as Fulmer were among the Class of 2012 honored at the National Football Foundation Awards Dinner.

Fulmer said he is proud of the fact he did it his way and, he believes, the right way.

And his results on and off the field certainly back up that feeling. Considered a player's coach, Fulmer took pride in mentoring student-athletes. On the field, his 152 wins and a national championship, capping off a magical 1998 season, proved just as impressive.

Fulmer is now one of 23 former Vols enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
