ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The family of a former fire chief in Anderson County has made funeral arrangements to say goodbye.
Former Medford Volunteer Fire Department Chief Ronnie Braden was killed last week when he crashed his car on the way to the hospital.
Braden's brother says he was experiencing chest pains last week, and was trying to drive himself and his wife to the hospital in Oak Ridge when he crashed.
Receiving of family and friends will be held on Friday at Clinch River Baptist Church in Medford from 5:00-7:00.
Braden's funeral will be on Saturday starting at 2:00, also at Clinch River Baptist. He will be buried afterward at Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens.
The family waited until now to make arrangements so that his wife, Connie, would be well enough to attend.
Connie Braden, who was injured in the crash, underwent halo surgery last week to stabilize her vertebrae.
Her family says the surgery was successful, and she was released from the hospital to the care of close relatives.
