Giving Tuesday offers boost to non profits

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - While the last few days have been all about getting. Getting more, getting it first, getting it cheaper. Tuesday is a day for giving.

The idea is to donate to non-profits and organizations with the same effort folks have put in to buying over the weekend.

Simon Malls, owner of the West Town Mall and Knoxville Center is asking you to stop by and give money to the American Red Cross or the Simon Youth Foundation.

All the money raised will go to aid the efforts of the American Red Cross while dollars raised for the Simon Youth Foundation will stay right here in Knoxville.

The Knoxville Ronald McDonald House is also hoping you remember them this Giving Tuesday.

It's a home away from home; a place for families with critically ill children to stay while their child or children are being treated. It's only five dollars a night for the families so donations are needed from the community to keep the house running.

If you're unable to donate money; remember you can always donate your time. The Ronald McDonald House is always looking for volunteers.
