'Hops and Hollers' a neighborhood taproom and craft beer store opens Saturday April 5th at 11:00 a.m.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- The craft beer industry is an ever growing field so much so that South College now offers a certificate program.
Whether you like beer or not you can't ignore the boom it has on economies especially since the craft beer industry employees more than 100,000 people in the United States and a few more thanks to South College.
The Professional Brewing Science certificate program is new to the area but is helping graduates find a successful career path in a growing field.
Charles Ellis and Todd Wakefield are just two graduates putting their education to good use by opening a neighborhood craft beer store and taproom.
It's called Hops and Hollers, located in Old North Knoxville on North Central Avenue. It's an emerging area that helps bridge the gap between downtown and Happy Holler.
The new hot spot has 32 taps and an extensive collection of bottled beer for sale. The grand opening is Saturday April 5th at 11:00 a.m. and the owners hope it's a step in the right direction for the area.
