Greeneville gets ready for The Band Perry's free show on Saturday

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- With less than a week to go before The Band Perry takes the stage for a free performance in historic downtown Greeneville, organizers are busy making their final preparations for what their calling one of the largest free, public, outdoor converts in the county's history.

They're expecting thousands of fans to come out on Saturday to hear the band debut new songs from their upcoming album, "Pioneer." The hour-long show starts at 6:00 p.m. with band members sticking around after the show to sign autographs.

The Greeneville Police Dept. said it plans on closing Main Street from Spencer Square to Summer Street as soon as it can after 5:00 p.m. on Friday to give crews time to set up the stage. Portions of Depot and Church Streets will also be shut down near Main Street. All vehicles parked in the area will be towed at the owner's expense, officials warned.

A shuttle service will begin at noon on Saturday, running from Hal Henard Elementary School, on Vann Road, and the Greene Co. Fairgrounds, on Fairgrounds Road. Buses will run until after the band is done signing autographs.

In the event of rain, organizers said they'll move the show indoors to Hal Henard Elementary.
