MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Preliminary plans drawn up, show a path along Highway 321 and the Little River.
"We think it'll run parallel to that road, but with a nice buffer between it and the highway. And we have to figure out that tight space before you get to Townsend, and then it will connect into the Townsend Greenway," said Ellen Zavisca, Senior Transportation Planner with Knoxville Regional TPO.
Tuesday evening, people had a chance to review the draft proposal and offer suggestions. While the final plans are drawn, funding still has to be found.
"I think this will really help draw people to the region and visit and ride their bikes and shop and eat along the way and stay here," Zavisca added.
In Maryville, people using the greenway there believe more natural safe areas to relax and play are welcome.
"We enjoy all the flowers and trees, especially in the spring we enjoy the cherry trees," said Angela Detoro, of Maryville. "Any place that gives you a safe place to get out and enjoy nature i'm all for that."
The group will also be taking opinions on the draft plan online also.
