Gym helps people get fit while fighting hunger problem

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- With every step, lift and jump these people are getting into shape and fighting hunger while they're at it.

"We are helping out Lost Sheep Ministries today, asking folks to bring in canned goods for their Under the Bridge program," says Michael Holtz, CEO of Adaptive Fitness Warehouse.

As many of us dread walking into the gym at the start of the year, this group is hoping they can smash those fears.

"We adjust the workout to whatever your fitness level is or your health condition, no one should be afraid."

Everyone has their reasons for getting fit, Christie Elliott teaches a home school group, "I challenge the kids to get fit and get exercise, I wasn't doing it my self so, they motivated me."

This gym has a bigger picture on the horizon.

"They feed them literally under the bridge on Wednesday nights so, we wanted to help the community of Knoxville as well. "

Adaptive Fitness Warehouse will be delivering the food next week so, if you'd like to donate you still can and get a work out in while you're at it.

They're located at 4702 Western Ave #102, Knoxville, TN 37921.
