Helping victims "Survive Sandy"

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Several musicians hit the stage at Mulligans during "Surviving Sandy." It's live concert benefit to bring Christmas to kids affected by Superstorm Sandy.

Mulligans hosted the music festival that started at noon Saturday and wrapped up at 1:00 a.m. Sunday.

The money raised goes to bringing some relief in the form of Christmas presents to those affected by Sandy.

"I just feel sorry for the people down in Jersey. I have two sisters that live there, and they got hit real hard and a lot of people lost everything they had. So we're here in the spirit, to make a difference today," said Tommy Santelli, who performed at the concert.

So far the event has raised $2,400 but that number is expected to go up to $3000 with some auction items that are awaiting payment.

Special thanks to musicians: Frequency, Tommy Santelli, Dream On Alice, Jaystorm, Dave Landeo, Aaron Tracy Band, Steve Rutledge, and the Blair Experience; and to Mulligans and Eagle Distributing.

Also thanks to contributors of auction items like a guitar signed by all musicians, a private party at a venue of choice provided by Carleo Entertainment, and a private concert with the Aaron Tracy Band.
