SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Three people are on their way to jail after a high speed chase.
It started Friday morning at the Nike store in the Tanger Outlets.
Police say they followed the men and forced the car to crash near Wilderness of the Smokies. The three men got out of the car and tried running, but didn't get far.
Arrested were Antonio L. Bowers, 18 years old from Nashville, TN; Tanyen E. Willis, 19, Antioch, TN, and Jeremy Patton, 20, Nashville, TN. Pending charges include felony theft; reckless endangerment; felony evading; resisting stop, frisk, halt; fleeing the scene of an accident; aggravated assault; and introducing contraband into a jail.
An officer's cruiser and civilian car was hit during the chase, but no one was hurt. They were captured after a brief foot pursuit and search, assisted by SPD SWAT and K9 members, and Sevier County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.
Nike employees have estimated the stolen merchandise is valued at approximately $3,000.00.
