KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- As a way to fight homelessness, a Brixx Pizza restaurant is teaming up with three breweries Monday to host the Hops for Homes event to benefit Volunteer Ministry Center.

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Monday in the Brixx Pizza restaurants in West Hills on Kingston Pike.

For $50, participants will be able to have beer and food from beer makers Brookyln Brewery, New Belgium Brewing and Yazoo Brewing Company, and the money will go to benefit Volunteer Ministry Center, an interfaith group that serves the poor and homeless in Knoxville.

Ginny Weatherstone, VMC chief executive officer, said in a statement, "VMC is so grateful to Brixx Pizza for their help in combating homelessness in our community."

Brixx will also give $3 on every pizza ordered from June 11th to June 17th if Volunteer Ministry is mentioned.

Tickets can be purchased at Brixx Pizza, the Volunteer Ministry Center, or their website at the link below.
