ATLANTA (WVLT) -- After three straight years of growing sales, Huddle House is planning a big push into East Tennessee. On Thursday, the Atlanta-based restaurant chain announced it would open 8 new locations in the Knoxville area over the next five years.
Company officials say they are looking for the right franchise partners to team with for the expansion. They said extensive research found Knoxville to be an ideal hub to expand their brand.
"We’ve thoroughly examined the Knoxville area and found that the demand for our concept continues to grow,” said Jonathan Benjamin, chief development officer of Huddle House. "Consequently, we’re 100 percent committed to finding business savvy franchise partners who are eager to join our family and reinvest in their community.”
Each new restaurant is expected to bring 30-40 new jobs and will create up to a half-million dollars worth local development contracts.
All of the new locations will be built using the chain's new prototype, which features a signature tower entrance, plush seating, and contemporary color schemes. Stores which have converted to the new prototype have seen sales jumps of 15% or more, the company claims.
Huddle House has nearly 400 restaurants in 21 states.
