Hundreds of East Tennessee kids participate in golf clinic

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- More than 200 kids and parents took to the course at Fairways and Greens Golf Center on Sunday.

They got the chance to learn from the pros and practice their skills during the Food City Kid's Clinic, part of the News Sentinel Classic.

"A lot of lessons can be learned in golf. It's a very valuable game and teaches us a lot of lessons in life, and it's a game we can all do with our family and we can do for a lifetime,” says Jamie Stokes.

Food City and the News Sentinel Open also presented a check for $2,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of the East Tennessee Valley.
