LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Hundreds of families in Loudon County have something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Thanks to generous donations, Loudon County's Good Samaritan Center gave away free full course meals to 800 families. The meals include a turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, rolls and corn.
"As cold as it is today I don't think anybody's feeling that because everybody knows they're helping a community," Pantry Manager Eddy Shubert said.
For the families who couldn't pick up their meals, Cindy Purdy, Family Resource Director of Loudon Co. Schools, took the meals to them
She told Local 8 News there were 23 families that needed meals taken to them.
"Families are really struggling at this time and holidays are suppose to be a time of celebration, togetherness and happiness and we want to ensure that happens," Purdy said.
It's all possible thanks to a generous community.
