MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- One person is dead and three others are recovering after a wreck in Blount County Sunday morning.
Officials said Lydia Gayle Davis, 25, of Maryville, was pronounced dead at Blount Memorial Hospital shortly after the accident.
The wreck happened on Whites Mill Road in Maryville around 10:30 a.m.
The driver of a Mazda SUV was traveling south on a curve when the SUV went into a sideways slide and struck a Dodge Ram traveling north.
A witness said the Dodge truck attempted to get off onto the shoulder of the road prior to the impact.
Officials said all four victims were wearing their seatbelts, however, Lydia Davis, who was seated in the middle seat of the Dodge truck, was wearing a lap belt only.
The accident is still under investigation.
