KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- According to the Mayan calendar; December 21, 2012 is the end of the world. We asked what would you do if you knew we only have weeks left on Earth?
Chris Martin from Knoxville said "Tie up loose ends and try to get in all those special moments before the end. Maybe even tell that guy or girl that you have a crush on them."
Whether you believe it's true or not; plenty of people think December 21st could be the end.
Anthony Stover from Knoxville said "I really believe that something is going to happen. Scientist that I have been listening to believe that something is going to happen on the 21st of December now what? no body can really predict."
Well one thing will happen on December 21st, 2012-- the winter solstice but other than that it's unknown.
We talked with Pastor Travis Ballinger from the Freedom House Church on Lovell Road said "You'll know the seasons you'll know the time it will be like birth pains. You'll know when the end is near but Jesus said this in Matthew 24 no man knows the day and no man knows the hour."
But Pastor Travis does say that we have some signs happening now that the Bible describes.
"The last days there's going to be rumors of war, war and there's going to earthquakes in many places. But again we will never know the day or time."
A little comfort in case you're stressing that everything could change in the next couple of weeks.
Pastor Travis does reminds us though "As Christians, we operate out of faith that God is in control and as long as God is in control; believers and Christians don't have anything to worry about."
