JEFFERSON CO. Tenn.(WVLT)-- Daniel and Brenda Cole will both spend a long time in federal prison for selling drugs.
53-year-old Daniel Cole of Talbott, TN was sentenced today to serve a
more than 41 years for selling drugs and firearms offenses. When he gets out he'll be on six years of supervised release.
His wife, 54-year-old Brenda Cole got more than 10 years drug trafficking offenses and for a firearm offense followed by
five years of supervised release.
Last October the Coles pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute oxycodone and
methamphetamine from May 2009 to September 2011; distribution of oxycodone and methamphetamine and possession of a firearm, including an assault rifle and a sawed-off shotgun.
U.S. Attorney Bill Killian said, “Armed drug dealers pose a serious threat to our society. These sentences reflect the serious consequences that the federal judicial system provides for such
criminal conduct.”
The Fourth Judicial District Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, the Dandridge Police Department, the Morristown Narcotics Unit and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation worked together on the arrest and conviction.
