KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Children spend a lot of time in the water throughout the summer, and some of them may not know how to swim.
Jersey Mike's Subs presented the YMCA of East Tennessee with a $5,068 check Tuesday to help ensure kids get proper training.
The money will be used for swim lessons and tuition to summer camps.
"I've always been extremely involved in the community. With the opportunity to partner with the YMCA right out of the gate, I just couldn't pass it up," says Ryan Wood.
The restaurant raised the money during its grand opening last month. They plan to open more franchises in East Tennessee.
