SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Tennessee Work Center in Sevierville says hundreds of jobs are available in Sevier County, one of the best job markets in years.
Kathy Foster is working, but wants to work more.
"Where I'm working, I worked 2 days last week for instance. So I'm looking for someone to fill in the gap here," said Foster. "I'm the only one paying the bills so something that would give me a good 40 hours and give me health benefits too would be great."
Foster was the only person looking for a jobs on Monday afternoon at the Sevierville Center. She found a wide range of jobs that fit her description.
There are 750 jobs posted in Sevier County through the work force center.
Phil Campbell, Owner of the Main Stays in Pigeon Forge, says he's been trying to fill several positions for weeks. He says the job market is tough this year with employers offering more money and better hours as incentives to fill positions.
"We've come through Spring break and we're still selling out, the restaurants are full and everyone realizes hey we need more help," said Campbell. "Also we pull from other counties. Cocke, Hamblen, counties come here to work as well. So we not only pull from Sevier County residents, but nearby counties as well. "
Campbell said new businesses like The Island in Pigeon Forge and Cheddar's are creating new jobs that's also making it tough to find workers.
For people looking to move up and make more money like Foster, there are options available.
"I found a few things to check here today, We'll see how it goes from there," she said.
