A LOCAL 8 WEATHER ALERT is in effect into Wednesday due repeated rainfall. A Flood Watch is in effect for our area until 7 AM Wednesday. Where there are more pauses in the rain, totals will be closer to 2 inches but some will receive at least 4 inches of rainfall total. Creeks and streams run high and areas with poor runoff could face flooding problems. Busy commute hours could face more slowdowns, with fog and standing water on roads as well.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Nashville judge has suggested someone from the Department of Children's Services should go to jail for making extensive redactions to the records of children who died.
Judge Carol McCoy earlier this year ruled that the department had to release to the media the records of children who had died or nearly died after DCS was supposed to be helping them. She authorized some redactions, but a recent batch of 44 files blacked out a lot of other information.
The state attorney general's office argued that the redactions were required to protect juvenile court records and medical information.
The Tennessean reports McCoy on Wednesday equated the redactions to contempt of court, saying "I need the name of the person responsible . someone who needs to sit in the pokey."
