A LOCAL 8 WEATHER ALERT is posted Monday - Wednesday due to significant rainfall amounts expected to accumulate. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch until Wednesday at 7am. We expect 2-4 inches of rain that could lead to some localized flooding in areas prone to flooding. This event will also create a slow commute to and from work Monday and Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday morning.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- As driving conditions gradually improve Friday, Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) is beginning to run more routes. The transit service has switched from its Severe Conditions routes to regular Snow Routes, KAT spokesperson Sharon Monett said.
Only the following routes do not run during snow routes:
Rt. 10: Sequoyah
Rt. 16:Cedar Bluff Shopping Connector
Rt. 34: Burlington
Rt. 44: Gateway at Knoxville.
Monett warned some routes may be delayed.
He added KAT will send an update when it is safe for them to return to regular routes.
