Crimetracker: KCSO still searching for Pizza Hut robbers

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is looking for at least two suspects responsible for a West Knox County Pizza Hut robbery that occurred Friday night. The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. at the Pizza Hut located at the 9200 block of Kingston Pike.

According to the initial investigation, a black male carrying a handgun entered the front door of the business, approached the clerk at the front counter, and demanded to know where the safe was. After pointing the gun at the employees and making them lie down on the floor, he grabbed cash from the safe and register and fled through the front door. The suspect pointed the gun at a delivery driver who was coming in the front door at that time and demanded he stay outside.

The suspect fled on foot, but was seen getting into the passenger side of a faded red older model (possibly 1992-1994) Honda Civic with a custom muffler and dark tinted windows. The suspects fled the parking lot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male with light skin, approximately 25-30 years old, 5’8”-5’9”, 150-160 pounds, with unshaven, scraggly facial hair. He was wearing a faded camouflage jacket at the time of the robbery. A description of the driver of the Honda is unavailable at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (865) 215-2243.
