KFD investigating cause of garage fire

Around 5:30 p.m., Knoxville Firefighters were called to the 1300 block of Vermont Ave. for report of a detached garage on fire.

When crews arrived, they found a loft style garage on fire with the resident attempting to extinguish the flames using a bucket of water. The resident said he had been inside his home showering when he noticed the flames coming from the structure in his backyard.

There is no power to the garage, and the fire appears to be caused intentionally. No injuries are reported and arson investigators are determining the cause and looking for a suspect.
