KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Keep Knoxville Beautiful held its first beautification mob project to help spruce up the Old City in downtown Knoxville.
Volunteers met at the corner of Summit Hill Drive and Central Avenue on Saturday with rakes, shovels and gloves ready to dig, plant, and pick up trash. It's all in an effort to make the area look more welcoming according to KKB Executive Director, Allison Teeters.
"People do walk their dogs so we want to make sure that is maintained, but we also want it to be very appealing so there's going to be some various plants that are installed and it will really look totally transformed."
About 40 volunteers helped with the one-day project.
The project is sponsored by Carex Design Group, Robin Easter Design, and the Old City Neighborhood Association in cooperation with the property owner, Hatcher-Hill Properties.
