Jeffrey Frump, 44, shot and killed by a Knox County deputy during a domestic abuse call early Tuesday morning.
KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police are investigating after a deadly shooting that left an officer injured in Knox County.
The shooting happened around midnight on 1232 in the Gray Community, just outside of Corbin.
State Police say Knox County Sheriff's deputy Brian Hensley was responding to a domestic violence call involving an intoxicated man.
When they Hensley arrived on the scene, police say 44-year-old Jeffrey Frump fired a handgun from the porch, hitting the him at least once in the leg.
The deputy then returned fire, killing Frump.
State Police say the deputy was taken to UK Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
His name has not yet been released.
