Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT) - More than 5,200 Knox County school students at 13 local schools will now participate in the free breakfast program. With this new initiative it doesn't matter who can afford to buy breakfast - because it's free. Now, school officials said they are seeing an increase in the number of students who eat breakfast.
We talked to a second grader at Mooreland Heights Elementary school, Hayden Corbitt. Here's what he said,"I like having breakfast better in the classroom. I don't have to go in the cafeteria and go back into the classroom to write."
