KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) --- Days after two of their own were gunned down outside a home in Webster NY, firefighters in Knoxville are reaching out.
Three sympathy cards are being signed by every member of the department and will be on their way to Webster this week.
Messages of hope and sorrow written by people who risk their lives everyday.
But thats not where Webster's impact stops.
KFD now says they have to consider a shooting a real possibility.
When they train for work they have to train for a shooting.
It's a different mindset for workers who are used to thinking only of protecting the people inside a burning home.
Webster NY may have forever changed the way Knoxville Firefighters react on the job.
