KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Two young Knoxville girls are celebrating their birthday in a very different way.
McClain and Campbell turned six just a couple days ago and decided to have their birthday at "Painting with a Twist" in Knoxville.
But this was no ordinary birthday party. The sisters wanted to raise money and items for East Tennessee Children's Hospital.
Instead of gifts for themselves, McClain and Campbell wanted to provide a few gifts for the NICU.
But don't worry , they'll still get gifts from mom and dad.
"We just had a talk about how you'll still get gifts from mom and dad and their grandparents but we don't need all these things when we don't play with them. They've been learning and talking a lot about it at school and just the timing was great," their mother Jasmine Hardin told Local 8 News.
And giving to nicu was perfect for the girls. They were born prematurely at 34 weeks.
