KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Two men are charged with aggravated robbery after a carjacking early Monday morning in Knoxville.
The victim, Broor Swahn, says he was at the red light on Davida Lane and Merchants Drive around 1:30am when 18-year-old Jamel Wilson and a juvenile approached his car.
One of them pulled out a gun, got in the car, and tried to take off. Unfortunately for their plans, neither of them knew how to drive a car with a manual transmission. So, they were forced to get out and flee on foot.
Patrol units in the area quickly spotted and arrested the two men walking north on Clinton Hwy. They were also able to recover a gun.
According to the Knox Co. Sheriff's Dept., Wilson was being held on $50,000 bond and is due to appear in court on September 20.
