Knoxville welcomes first baby born in 2014

The Voudren family welcomes their first child, Harley Denise.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- While most of us were counting down the last seconds of 2013; one family was anxiously awaiting the birth of their daughter.

It's the start of a new year and a new life the Voudren family didn't expect to happen on New Year's Day.

Jonna Voudren, the new mother said "Our first ultrasound said December 25th and then we had another ultrasound and it was changed to December 21st but she arrived a little late."

Harley Denise made her grand appearance at 12:02 a.m. on New Year's Day weighing 7 lbs. 8 oz.

Chad Voudren said "Jonna wore this shirt when she was pregnant that said 'A Star is Born' and here's her first day already on t.v."

She was named Harley; not after the famous motorcycle company said Jonna "As soon as I heard the name it just clicked and I knew that had to be her name."

The proud parents are tickled pink over their new daughter and have big plans for her in the future.

"She's wearing an outfit that her uncle got her. It has a Navy Seal on it because her daddy served for 20 years and she's going to be the next female Navy Seal since they're talking about letting women become seals." said Jonna

But for now she's headed home to meet the family dog, Tipper and an excited extended family.

"We told everyone in the family we were getting them a Harley for Christmas but they can't keep it they'd have to give it back but she showed up a little late." said Chad

However, the gift everyone is getting is far better!
