KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Kentucky Derby fever is hitting Old City in Knoxville.
Tonight was the launch of Downtown Derby Week, and many got together for some good times at the Wagon Wheel.
This is one of several spots around Knoxville taking part in the celebration.
But it's also a time to raise awareness and money for the Second Harvest's backpack program, which gives kids food to go home with on the weekends.
"We have parties, prizes all over downtown Knoxville. You'll see posters all over the storefronts and retailers and restaurants, and it's all about having a good time. But at the end of the day it's about helping to end hunger," said Jimmy Buckner with the Scarecrow Foundation.
People also picked horses' names out of the hat, and the winner gets a prize.
WVLT is participating, and we are rooting for "Overanalyze," which has an 18:1 shot to win.
