KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- On Tuesday, all 11 Knox County Kroger Stores delivered school supplies to Teacher Supply Depot.
Many students are not able to afford the supplies they need, so without the Supply Depot teachers would be forced to dip into their own pockets to buy classroom supplies for students with the greatest need.
For the past 3 weeks, Kroger has collected supplies through customer and employee donations.
Over 1,300 boxes where presented to the Knox County Teacher's Depot after teachers visited the depot last Saturday.
Teacher Supply Depot allows Knox County teachers to shop free for donated school supplies at least four times per school year.
It is open to all Knox County teachers and is housed on the second floor of the former Cedar Bluff Intermediate School in West Knoxville.
