LAKE CITY, Tenn (WVLT) -- A Lake City man died Saturday afternoon after a motorcycle collision near Lake City.
On Saturday morning at about 10:45 a.m., a Mercury Mountaineer SUV driven by William Ferrell, 71, of Clinton, turned into the path of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by Gregory McNelley, 53, of Lake City. His wife, Julie McNelley, 49, was a passenger on the motorcycle.
They collided, and both Gregory and Julie McNelley were taken by Anderson County EMS to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Gregory McNelley died later Saturday afternoon. Julie McNelley's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Ferrell was not injured.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, but alcohol use is not suspected to be involved.
