KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Underage drinking charges against the last five Ut students charged in a case that got national attention have been adjudicated.
The students all belonged to the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity chapter at UT. They were found guilty on Thursday. The UT chapter the fraternity has been disbanded as well. The court ruled that if the students pay court costs and don't get into trouble for 30 days, the charges will be cleared.
It began on September 22nd when fraternity member Alexander P. Broughton was brought to the UT Medical Center by fraternity brothers. He was unconscious and doctors measured his blood-alcohol level at 0.448 percent. Physicians called police when they found anal injuries.
A fraternity member later told police students had been ingesting wine rectally. Broughton has denied doing that.
