LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Protesters in Lenoir City will be back out in Lenoir City Park Thursday to voice their opposition to the removal of prayer from Lenoir City School Board meetings and Lenoir City Schools.
The protesters say they believe prayer should be a part of local school systems.
This is the second time the protesters have gathered.
The school system banned prayer at meetings and football games after complaints.
In April, the Freedom from Religion Foundation sent a letter of complaint to Lenoir City Schools over the "Sin-Tacular Basketball Show" held in the Lenoir City High School gym, which they say is run by Christian organization Champions Forever Ministries.
Lenoir City Police also received complaints this year over a patch on their uniforms that includes the word "religion".
The protesters are holding their assembly at Lenoir City Park at 6 p.m. Thursday.
