Weather Alert: Showers & Storms This Weekend

A Local 8 Weather Alert has been issued for today. Because of the threat of rain, thunder and even hail, outdoor activities may be disrupted or inconvenienced. What's going on? An upper-level low will be moving across East Tennessee today, creating a more unstable atmosphere.

Library looking for more volunteers

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Sevier County Public Library System wants to increase their volunteer workforce.

The library says a there are several tasks available for volunteers and a schedule that will match their times available. Marissa Snead, SCPLS Volunteer Coordinator says she's in search of some special people to help out.

Volunteer work hours can be set from Monday through Saturday at the King Family Library, 408 High Street, in Sevierville.
