Weekend planner: May 4, 2013

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- This weekend should be rainy, but don't let that get in the way of getting out to these events.

Street Rod Nationals - A unique gathering of vintage autos from all over the country, the Street Rod Nationals is a car show featuring hot rods from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. It's going on Saturday and Sunday at the Chilhowee Park and Expo Center. It's $14 for adults, $5 for children between ages 6 and 12 and free for kids under 5 years of age. It starts at 8:30 a.m.

Boogie on the River - The Boogie on the River is a benefit in order to raise money for cancer victims. This year, the event is in memory of Brently Mancini. There's food, music, raffles and all kinds of fun. It's $10 for the day, and gates open at noon Saturday in Maryville.

Townsend Spring Festival and Old Timers Day - All day, 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday. Learn more about Appalachian heritage at the Smoky Mountain Visitor Center.

Garrison Weekend - Immerse yourself in the history of our area at Garrison Weekend at Fort Loudon State Park in Vonore. It runs from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.

Knoxville Beautiful's Paws Party - Take your dog for a day out Saturday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Victor Ashe Park.
