PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) - It's a race around the world and a chance to win $2 million.

Sunday is the season premiere of The Amazing Race on WVLT at 8:00.

One of the couples competing for the big prize is from east Tennessee, Rob and Sheila from Pigeon Forge.

"To contemplate traveling around the world with almost nothing, except for a person that's your partner. To engage cultures, to engage competition, and the possibility of winning $2 million," said Rob.

Rob and Sheila were engaged when they competed, and say it's an experience they won't forget.

"It was an amazing adventure to take on because we both love adventure," said Sheila.

"I would say that it was just the coolest thing," said Rob.

They work in the same building, but have different tools of their trade. Rob is a professional lumberjack and Sheila is a marketing specialist.

Together, they experienced the world, and will be testing their relationship before the world audience.

"It was more about the places, you possibly could be going and then you really start thinking more about the relationship," said Rob.

"It is scary thinking that there's going to be a TV camera watching you the entire time and having sound on you 24/7. I definitely was scared of that," said Sheila.

It's typically on the stage of the Lumberjack Feud you can see Rob's competitive side. But he and Sheila agree on the Amazing Race you could see it as well.

"Because we could sustain the around the world travel, but oh yeah competitive, oh yeah," said Rob.

The competition between couples, the fight for $2 million, the competition between each other: it was through that they saw the world.

But what they learned from their journey was more valuable than just money.

"It became a lot more about the relationship. The million dollars you think about every once in a while, but really it became about how were we going to do as a couple," said Rob.

Since the Amazing Race, Rob and Sheila got married.

But we'll see how the couple does on Sunday nights on WVLT Volunteer TV.
