The Affordable Health Care Law kicks in less than a year and still there are many questions surrounding it. No one truly knows what it will mean until it's here, but one doctor thinks it will be a huge help for some.
Dr. Don Horton spoke at a Tennova women's health forum at the Foundry. Afterwards, we asked him about the Affordable Care Act also known as Obamacare.
He tells me won't know fully what it means until it's completely rolled out in January. Dr. Horton says some are going to find it helpful, and some are going to find it a little obtrusive.
He thinks it will help with preventative care and help out our nation's health on a whole because it will force people to have insurance.
Dr. Don Horton says, "One of the best things about it is that it's going to get them into the system. Just last week I saw a guy with cancer and it was very advanced. The reason was because he couldn't see any doctors because he didn't have insurance. And by the time he was diagnosed, it was very difficult to treat."
Dr. Horton thinks there are some people that are going to win with the new healthcare, but some who will lose. He thinks Obamacare will help the overall health of the nation.
Obamacare debuts January 2014.
