KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A local English teacher gets her chance to "Come On Down!" when her name is called on "The Price Is Right." Erin Atchley will appear on the popular game show, which airs at 11 a.m. right here on WVLT, on Tuesday.
Atchley and her husband, who are both writers, decided to go catch some television tapings while they were in San Diego to attend Comic-Con.
"We're big fans of 'The Drew Carey Show,' and Craig Ferguson (who got his start on "The Drew Carey Show")," said Atchley, "and my husband had done a piece of artwork to present to Craig Ferguson, and we thought 'Hey, while we're out here, let's see if we can get some tickets for "The Price Is Right" too, and we can meet 'em both!' ... We didn't think we'd actually get to meet them AND get called up on stage!"
The couple lined up early to go see see "The Price is Right"
"We got there about 5:30 in the morning, but we were some of the first ones in line," said Atchley. "But there were over 300 people there to be on the show when it was all said and done."
Things went almost as well when they went to see "The Late, Late Show" and even met host Craig Ferguson. "We got to sit in the front row and he was super nice," Atchley recalled.
