Lost Sheep Ministry gets help to serve needy

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Just in time for Christmas, one area group wants to make sure a local charity on the front lines of fighting poverty has what it needs.

The Knoxville area "Covair Club" chose Lost Sheep Ministry as the charity members felt needed help the most.

So today, members of the club made a special donation to "Lost Sheep".

A monetary donation of $345 was given, while members spent their own cash to get specific items the ministry's clients need.

"It'll keep people warm this winter. And it keeps us feeding them. It keeps ups getting clothes for them. We send rehab all over the country for drugs and alcohol," said Maxine Rains, the founder of Lost Sheep Ministry.

This is the third year the Covair Club has made a donation to a local charity.

On Wednesday, Lost Sheep will have their "Christmas under the Bridge."

Every week, they feed hundreds of people who normally might miss a meal
