KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- She may have lived just 22 years...but Sydney Sloan's impact will be felt for a long time to come.

That's the message those attending a candlelight vigil on U.T.'s campus Friday night wanted the community to know.

Hundreds filled Circle Park...many of Sloan's sorority sisters in the Sigma Kappa organization were joined by her parents, sister and even those who worked with her at U.T.'s Camp Koinonia.

We spoke with the Koinonia's director, Gene Hayes, who says Sloan made a difference in the lives of children with disabilities who attend the camp.

Others spoke of Sloan's bright smile and cheerful personality.

Candles were light, and prayers were said...while her parents spoke of the void they now live with. And how Sloan saved the lives of two people while working as a lifeguard.

Sloan was found dead in a bathtub earlier this week.

A cause of death has not been determined.
