Man, 50, hit, killed by train in Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- A Johnson City man has been struck and killed by a train.

The Johnson City Press reported police were called to the CSX Transportation tracks in Johnson City late Saturday night and found the victim dead at the scene.

Police identified him as 50-year-old Lavern Wampler.

An investigation is underway, but police said no foul play is suspected.
