Man charged in connection with 2013 shooting of Blount Co. student

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - An 18-year-old has been charged in connection with a May 2013 shooting that killed a Heritage High School wrestler.

The man has been charged with criminally negligent homicide in the death of Skylar Boring.

The suspect was 17 at the time of the shooting so his name has not been released.

officers responded to a home on Lamar Alexander Parkway on the night of May 28th, 2013. Boring was already on the way to the hospital in a personal car.

An ambulance met up with boring and he was later flown to UT Medical Center, but died a short time later.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office and the Blount County District Attorney General’s Office concluded their investigation Friday.
