Where there are more pauses in the rain, totals will be closer to 2 inches but some will receive at least 4 inches of rainfall total. CARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One man died when a boat overturned on Cove Lake late Friday morning, spilling him and another person into the water, according to the Campbell Co. Sheriff's Office.
The TWRA identified the man as 50 year old James Hamblin, from Hamilton, Ohio.
Investigators say Hamblin and Bill Roddy from LaFollette had rented the boat from the park and were fishing at the time of the incident.
Hamblin was standing up when he fell causing both he and Roddy to fall overboard. Roddy was able to swim back to the boat and paddle to the road where he flagged down a passing motorist who called for help.
Members of the sheriff's office, the Caryville Police Dept. and State Park Rangers, as well as fire and rescue squads all responded to the scene.
