MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A construction worker hit by a tractor trailer while working on Interstate 81 in Hamblen County has died.
Friends tell Local 8 News the victim is Chad Rogers.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation says he was working on a new interchange at Mile Marker 8 in Morristown. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Hamblen County Sheriff's Office, he was walking across the northbound lanes of the interstate around 1:00 on Thursday when the tractor trailer hit him.
TDOT says he worked for contractor Charles Blalock and Sons.
