KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) One day out of jail and Matthew Morrow is back behind bars after burglarizing several businesses along Oak Ridge Highway Monday night.

He was released Monday from the Morgan County Regional Prison where he served time for burglary, but it didn't take him long to return to his old habits.

He burglarized four businesses and vandalized another. He used a metal pole to try and break into an ATM at the ORNAL Credit Union. After that he went down the road to Open Arms Care.

Charlene Negendank works at Open Arms Care. She believes Murrow was hiding inside an electrical closet while she and her co-workers were still at work.

"It really scared me to know that someone was possibly in the building when there was a few of us here," says Negendank.

After the business closed, he broke some windows and made a mess of the place.

After that, he went to Bojangles down the road where he stole a jar of change and a few football jerseys.

His next stop was his last stop. Police found him in the office of the Insite Group. Morrow gave himself up and was taken into custody Tuesday morning.
