Man sentenced to five years in prison for having child pornography

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - An Indiana man has been sentenced in federal court in Knoxville for receiving and possessing child pornography.

Jonathan Mendheim, 35, of Indianapolis, will serve five years in prison. He will also be under supervised release for 20 years after he gets out of prison. He will also pay $3,500 in restitution to victims.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of
Justice
