Crimetracker: Maryville man shot after refusing to put his gun down

According to Maryville Police, officers responded to a report of a suicidal person in the 2000 block of East Broadway Friday night in Maryville.

When they arrived at the store, 26-year-old Michael Huskey was initially missing, but his car was present at the store.

Police found his suicide note, but could not find Huskey.

Eventually, an officer spotted Huskey around a corner of the building and chased after him.

Huskey had a loaded gun, and when officers finally tracked him down, held it up. He refused to put it down when told, and officers opened fire, hitting him three times.

Huskey was taken to UT Medical Center where he was released Saturday.

Huskey faces charges of two counts of aggravated assault.
